We are pleased to announce that BBoB5 will be dragging their sorry little (ok, not so little) sore arses around the Scottish and Irish roads once again to raise money for another great cause. This year our chosen charity is Alzheimer Scotland and in particular to support their project to establish a dementia resource centre in Lanarkshire. We all know somebody who’s been affected by this terrible condition and so we hope you’ll all give generously in support of this cause.
BBoB is now officially a phenomenon as we have raised in excess of £23,000 in 4 years, which is fantastic!
As is our normal madcap approach to things, we’ve chosen a route which isn’t that straightforward and involves ferries – we do like to cycle across the seas.
Day 1. Hamilton Rugby Club – Troon 50 miles (via Strathaven, Muirkirk & Galston)
Day 2. Larne – Ballycastle –
Day 3. Carradale – Clanoaig 10.05 – Lochranza – Brodick 13.50 –
Day 4. Rothesay – Colintraive (breakfast) – Strachur – Arrochar – Helensburgh = 75 miles
In total we’ll be cycling 260 miles in 4 days! And unlike Lance Armstrong, we’ll be doing it drug free. Although I can’t say that we’ll be fully clean – we may have to consume a couple of specially brewed isotonic drinks on the way – purely for medicinal purposes.
So I know we ask you all every year, but every year it’s for a very worthy charity. Please give generously!
